A Camino is distinguished by sacred sites and local communities. South Africa’s wealth lies in her diversity: of sacred beliefs, communities and natural environment. The rural Western Cape is abundant with all these elements; mountains, rivers, viewpoints, farm lands, bird and animal life and your hosts: country hospitality. All provide an ideal space to journey.
A pilgrimage means to cleanse. You can choose to interpret this in any way. No matter what the faith, a pilgrim can connect with the sacredness within. As in life, there may be difficulties along the way. Take your time, be aware of your thoughts and reactions. And take from the experience, the lessons you may need to bring back to your everyday circumstance. This is the true essence of Cape Camino.
Includes all chaperones, all accommodation (guesthouse, homestay, farmstay sharing), two meals per day (dinner and packed breakfast), luggage transfers, Cape Camino branded gear and Camino passport to get stamped.
Excludes transport to start/back to start, lunch/third meal, beverages, snacks, spending money, gratuity.
The route is a network of farm tracks, gravel roads and pathways. We cross tar roads once or twice. The terrain is the breathtaking views of Cape winelands, mountain ranges, the Berg River and the Atlantic coast line.
A full program with detailed information is supplied to the pilgrims on booking.
