Product Details

A firsthand immersion experience with the locals.

The Itinerary is 3 days, and two nights. between 12-20 km per day.

Cape Town’s strength lies in her diversity. Walk through villages, sleep over in homestays, listen to the stories and perceptions and make friends with local Capetonians.

Day 1

Begin the day in Simon's Town at Lord Nelson Inn. Walk along a footpath to the Rasta Community in Ocean View. Spend time drinking herbal tea and learning more about the Rasta way of life and their sacred paradigms. Nature setting with beautiful views.

Your chaperone will then escort you to your hosts for the night in Ocean View.

You'll relax for the afternoon at Top Ocean View with Nadia and Clarence Petersen. They will offer you a warm welcome in their home, dinner and local history and personal accounts of life as a local Cape Townian in South Africa. Supper will probably be a braai or a potjie, a very South African experience.

The room is private with a shared bathroom.

Day 2

Mostly beach walking, along the quiet coast of Kommetjie and Noordhoek, the ancient homelands of the Khoi people.

You'll be transported over Chapman's Peak Drive, an iconic scene of the Hout Bay area. Walk from the toll into Hout Bay, across the beach and meet Brent who will show you to your accommodation adjacent to Hangberg, the local fishing village of Hout Bay.

This luxury establishment will offer you dinner, bed and breakfast, and unprecedented Hout Bay views.

Day 3

Brent Thomas, a local Camino and Nature guide, will fetch you and guide you on the Karbonkelberg experience. A 10km walk alongside the famous Seal Island. Brent often brings his family along too. He is incredibly enthusiastic and has great knowledge of the Khoi people.

End at Fish on the Rocks in Hout Bay for an optional lunch or tea.

The terrain is both urban and natural.

Each day there will be a chaperone to accompany you.
