Itinerary
Day 0
Riebeek Kasteel
Arrive after 4pm and before 6pm. Your host will provide you with dinner. If you arrive early you can browse through the lovely town of Riebeek West and/or Riebeek Kasteel 5 Km away.
Day 1
Sandvlei. 14,8 km
A flat straight farm road along side Riebeek West vineyards. Your host from Riebeek West will provide you with a packed meal to consume when you want to. Bring your own lunch box to reduce one time use plastic. Bring your own water bottle.
Day 2
Nuwefontein. 16 km
Flat farm roads with lovely mountain views. Your host will provide you with a packed meal to enjoy when you want to. Nuwefontein host will provide you with dinner- if you need a third meal in between the picnic and dinner please pack some extra snacks. But remember; farmers are very generous with their meals.
Day 3. 10 km
Circular farm route on Nuwefontein farm.
Circular farm walk organised and plotted by Nuwefontein farmer- showcasing farm activities throughout the year: sometimes sheep, canola, wheat- a celebration of rural farm life- Your host will pack you a picnic to enjoy on the walk.
Includes
Chaperones on some days not all, accommodation with 2 meals per day, luggage transfer, Camino passport and branded gear.
Excludes
The third meal- bring trail food if you need 3 meals- Farmers always feed their pilgrims very well so this third meal is often not necessary, but if you’re worried about food, pack in some nuts, biltong, dried fruit etc.
Beverages- you can pack in soft or alcoholic beverages which will be transported with your luggage. You can purchase beverages and snacks in Riebeek West. There will be no shops until the last day when you are collected from Nuwefontein, for your arrangement.
Towels- please bring your own towel- We want to reduce daily laundry for the hosts.
Transport to the beginning of the route- Riebeek West, and from the end of the route - Nuwefontein. Either you organise it with your party or we can send you the name of a local shuttle service.
